The Candy Chef is owned by both Tyana Pham and Clement Wong. As we started with the planning of our wedding day, we encountered this exciting business opportunity and have decided to switch gears into planning for our very own candy shop.

Tyana is the head chef of the shop bringing nearly a decade of experience in the confectionery industry. She has a degree in the culinary arts and loves to cook. With her candy knowledge, her passion for the culinary arts, and her creativity, she will surely whip up a platter of eye candy for you! She has the sweet tooth in the business and is the expert in bringing you the best candy selections to satisfy your taste buds. Tyana is in charge of all operational duties and makes sure the shop is all in order.

Clement is like the kitchen manager and he handles all the back of the house duties. As an AHS alumni, Clement grew up in Alhambra since the age of 9 and has never left. He went to Martha Baldwin Elementary, graduated from Alhambra High School class of ’95, received his Bachelor of Science in Management and Human Resource from Cal Poly Pomona and MBA in Marketing from Cal State LA. Clement works primarily on the Marketing and Development of the business and stands there looking pretty….. handsome….. pretty handsome!

[Our Inspiration]

Tyana has been creating candy arrangements as a hobby for special events for several years now. Being in the confectionery industry for nearly a decade as an O.G. Sweetie of Sweets From Heaven @ the Block in Orange (Hey, gotta give a shout out to the place where it allll began), she has gained all the knowledge and is now a candy expert! Since her first creation, the idea has taken off with such success and popularity, she realized that it was time to make this a full time gig. She loved creating all the arrangements thus far and is excitedly looking forward to put together yours! Tyana creates them tailored to the event at hand, so no one product is ever the same! This sugar mamah’s got skills yo.

Tyana has always dreamed of either owning her own candy shop or restaurant. And of course to make Clement even more awesome, he wanted to make that dream of hers come true since he’s already made her ultimate dream come true: HIMSELF. (Gee, wonder who’s writing this part.) She knew that if we found a place to open up a shop, it would be a great opportunity to make this all a reality. On one random day, we decided to go biking on Main Street and noticed that there wasn’t a candy store in or around Alhambra. We thought it was about time someone took that matter into their own hands. It is now in OUR hands. We spotted this vacant spot that was up for lease and being only a block away from Alhambra High School and the center point from there to the movie theater, this place would be a perfect location to start up our business. Although Tyana is now on her way to owning her very own candy shop, her restaurant dream did not fall short behind because her vision of the shop is to make it feel like you’re inside her kitchen ~ where she’ll whip up all kinds of sweetness for ya, hence our name….. The Candy Chef.

[Our Goal]

Aside from world peace, The Candy Chef wants to be a part of your special events! Our goal is two-fold, not only do we want to be your #1 choice for all your custom candy arrangement needs, we also want to be your #1 candy store! The Candy Chef strives to be the only candy arrangement store in the San Gabriel Valley in addition to providing the largest selection of candy in Alhambra and surrounding areas! We have a buffet of candy ready for you (literally ~ there’s 3 buffet stations). Having the right kind of candy makes one a true candy store. Alhambra High School’s Associated Student Body (ASB) is also joining forces with us to provide you with some wonderful discounts as well! I remember waaay back in the days when I (Clement) had my ASB card, I used it frequently and took advantage of some great discounts. Too bad there wasn’t a candy store back then. *AHEM, The Candy Chef, AHEM*
